What data we collect
Hatley stores parenting moments, child development themes, coaching actions, academic assessments, enrichment activities, and parent observations that you share during conversations with your AI assistant. We also store account credentials (email and hashed password) for authentication.
Where your data is stored
All family data is stored in a secure, managed PostgreSQL database hosted on cloud infrastructure. Each family's data is logically isolated — your information is never mixed with other families. In future releases, we plan to offer self-hosted database options for families who want full data sovereignty.
What Hatley sees vs. what stays private
Your conversations with your AI assistant are processed by your AI provider (such as Anthropic for Claude or OpenAI for ChatGPT) and are subject to their respective privacy policies. Hatley only stores the structured data that your AI assistant writes back through Hatley's tools — moments, themes, assessments, coaching actions, and observations. We do not store raw conversation transcripts.
Hatley's system administrator has access to the database for maintenance and support purposes.
How to delete your data
You can request complete deletion of your family's data at any time by contacting us at support@hatley.ai. We will remove all records associated with your family account within 30 days of your request.
No advertising, no data sales
Hatley does not display advertisements. We do not sell, rent, or share your family's data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Aggregated, anonymized enrichment ratings may be used to power cross-family recommendations (such as program quality scores), but no personally identifiable information is ever shared.

Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Hatley, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Description of service
Hatley is a family development platform that stores and organizes parenting data — moments, development themes, coaching interventions, assessments, and enrichment activities — to provide personalized context to AI assistants. Hatley provides data storage and retrieval; your AI assistant provides the coaching and analysis.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You may invite co-parents or partners to share your family profile. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Your data
You own your family's data. Hatley stores it on your behalf to provide the service. You may request full deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@hatley.ai. See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection, storage, and handling.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Hatley for its intended purpose: tracking and supporting your family's development. You agree not to use the service to store content that is illegal, abusive, or violates the rights of others. Accounts used for purposes other than family development may be suspended.
Availability and changes
Hatley is provided "as is." We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update features, tools, or these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Limitation of liability
Hatley provides data storage and context for AI-generated coaching. We are not a medical, psychological, or educational service. Coaching suggestions generated by your AI assistant are not professional advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hatley is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
Termination
You may stop using Hatley at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, you may request your data be exported or deleted.
